Career Builder indicates that two-thirds of people seriously dislike their job. Many young people indicate that they do not know what or who they want to be when they grow up. A primary issue that we face is not tapping into the 3 Keys to our success at work. Those keys are our passions (interests), our fit (personality), and our ability (cognitive). You were created for a purpose. By understanding how those three (3) areas work together, you can discover your purpose.
Who Were You Suppose To Be?
Do you remember when you were 10 years old? The world was simple. Many of us had dreams and aspirations, but they had more to do with dreaming of being a fireman, a teacher, an astronaut, or something really cool. Me personally, I wanted to be either a spy, or a philanthropist. Both of them had really cool stuff, and James Bond was always on top of the world. I don't remember anyone saying as a 10-year old... "Some day I want to work for an unappreciative manager, pick up their dry cleaning, and get yelled at regularly." Most of us believed that we would be large and in charge when were old, you know 20 years old. Life does not always work the way we plan at the age of 10. As we get older, we realize that we need to find what truly inspires us, the way we thought of some day having a job when we were 10. We need to find out why people are not responding the way they should when we lead them. Once you do find the answers to these questions, that inner child, the one who loves life and is excited to get out of bed because there is so much wolrd to enjoy... that child comes back.
When you finally get to do what you truly love to do, it is no longer work, it is passion. Finding your purpose, what you were made to be or do is what unlocks all of that potential that resides inside of you. We want to help you get there. There are a number of tools on this site that we would like for you to explore. Think of as the preparation that you would do as a 10-year for your next great adventure. Look over the tools and make sure you pack you bags with all the right ones for you. When I was 10, I always took extra, just in case.
